Grafton Historical Society

The Grafton Historical Society, established in 1981, is organized to collect, preserve, interpret and share historical records and artifacts.  It actively shares items and topics of local interest and significance through lectures, exhibits, programs and publications.  In addition, it does provide local genealogy assistance.

The Society meets monthly, April through December, with a program or activity of local interest.

Current officers are:  President - Jeffrey Paine
                                Vice President - Ken Niebuhr
                                Secretary - Betsye Mowry
                                Treasurer - Joseph Ferrannini

Among its resources, the Society has a collection associated with Mina Hydorn which includes scanned diaries and other correspondence, some with transcriptions, pictures and other written records.  Contact Jeffrey Paine at for a list of the scanned records available online as well as hardcopy.

For inquiries regarding Society activities, participation and membership, please contact Town Historian, Pat Niebuhr, at 658-3737.

First meeting will be March 18th at 2pm.

Spring is nearly here and we are ready for our first meeting of the year.

There will be a short business meeting, election of officers, an opportunity to pay your dues and volunteer to help by serving on a committee.

Then we will share in seeing some historical records that the late Bob Goyer contributed to the Society.

Then the fun! Pizza party!!
Relax and enjoy with us.
See you then!

Exhibit: Remember when you were a child and as soon as the Christmas tree was up, out came that train. Come see our exhibit at the Grafton Town Hall. One of our members has shared some of his train collection for you to enjoy.

No Historical Society meeting in December. Enjoy your holiday!
